Recreation Commission Chair Derrick Legall has announced that the South Side Playground expansion at the Saratoga Springs Recreation Center, 15 Vanderbilt Avenue is complete.
The expansion was made possible by the Community Development Block Grant Entitlement Program. The 890sq ft. expansion nearly doubled the existing play area, adding a climbing structure, a 3 person slide, creative play features, and much more for our children to enjoy. “We could not be more thrilled that the South Side’s expanded playground is open for play. Improving every resident’s quality of life is one of the main goals of the Recreation Commission, and every child should have a safe and inviting place to play” says Derrick Legall. “Expanding this playground is an investment in the well-being of our children that will pay dividends for years to come” added Legall.
The Recreation Commission would like to thank the Community Block Grant committee, Office of Community Development, Department of Public Works, the Mayor’s Office and the City of Saratoga Springs community for their support and efforts with the project.
Special thank you to the Erica Miller, Brian Molongoski and the Saratogian for the June 11, 2013 page 1 article and pictures and Fox 23 for their video coverage of the event.
